Feeling the Mounjaro Panic? You’re Not Alone

If you’re feeling anxious right now about Mounjaro — worried about the price hike, the shortages, or what happens next — you’re not the only one.
Maybe you’ve finally found something that helped shift the weight. Maybe, for the first time in years, you felt a little lighter — physically and emotionally. And now, just as you were finding your rhythm, you’re hearing about prices tripling and pharmacies running out. It’s unsettling, isn’t it?
Here’s the truth: you’re not alone in this. And you don’t need to navigate it on your own.
What’s Happening Right Now
In the UK, Mounjaro’s manufacturer, Eli Lilly, has paused shipments ahead of a significant increase effective 1 September 2025. (1)
For many, the monthly cost will jump from around £122 to almost £330. (2) Pharmacies are already rationing supplies, new patients can’t start treatment, and some high-street chains have run out completely.
It’s no wonder there’s panic. But there’s something deeper here, too — something we’re not talking about enough.
The Real Conversation We Need to Have
Mounjaro works by suppressing appetite. It can help people lose weight, yes — but it doesn’t teach us how to eat well or why we overeat in the first place.
Without those foundations, the weight loss can feel fragile. You might reach your “goal weight” but still feel disconnected from food, worried about gaining it all back, or unsure how to eat without the injection.
Here are two personal story-style scenarios that reflect what many people are experiencing right now:
Scenario 1: Emma, 42 — “I Stopped Eating, But I Didn’t Heal”
Emma started Mounjaro six months ago. At first, it felt life-changing: the weight finally began to shift. But because she never felt hungry, she started skipping meals, surviving on coffee, and assuming the injection would “do the work.”
Now, with the price rise looming, she’s scared.
“I’ve lost two stone, but I feel weak and drained. I didn’t learn how to eat differently — I just stopped eating. Without Mounjaro, I don’t know what to do.”
Scenario 2: Raj, 37 — “I Thought This Would Be Different”
Raj used food for comfort when life felt overwhelming. When he started Mounjaro, his appetite disappeared, and his weight dropped quickly. But he never worked through why he was overeating in the first place.
Now, as supplies become uncertain, Raj feels stuck.
“I thought this was the answer. But I never learned how to deal with my triggers or fuel my body properly. Without the injection, I feel lost.”
It’s Not Just About Eating Less
These stories are all too common. Weight-loss medication can give us a head start — but if we don’t learn how to nourish our bodies, manage emotional triggers, and rebuild our relationship with food, we risk falling back into old patterns.
You don’t need to do this alone. There is another way — one that puts you, not the injection, at the centre of your health journey.
